The Donington Arms has a Christmas Eve Karaoke and Disco on Sunday.

It is a night that promises food, drinks and fun for all the family.

Elm Farm Barn in Swannington will be staging The Beautiful Dark - Celebrating The Winter Solstice on Saturday.

The event promises a wonderful evening of Yuletide music, song and spoken word celebrating the Winter Solstice.

Featuring local folk band, Calling Time, the evening will be a refreshing alternative to the usual Christmas fare and will feature original material and some good, old folky favourites.

Ibstock Soul Club will also be having its annual Christmas party this Saturday at the Central Function Room, Central Avenue, in Ibstock.

You can hear the very best of commercial Motown & 60s/70s Soul. Listen and dance the night away to the sounds of the Four Tops, Temptations,Supremes, Elgins, Marvin Gaye, Jimmy Ruffin, Frank Wilson and many more.

All played on Vinyl on the venues' superb in-house surround sound system.

The Marlene Reid Centre in Belvoir Road has something little different this evening (Thursday).

You can join the Crafting Supplies Outlet for a fantastic crafting evening for a festive string art workshop.
