Western Power has confirmed a power cut in the Bardon Road area of Coalville this morning (Wednesday) after some residents reported a 'massive bang'.

People in the area said it happened at around 6am - and the noise caused some concern.

A spokeswoman for Western Power said: "Sorry for the disruption, we are aware of a fault in the area.

"Engineers aim to restore power by 9.30am. Apologies for any inconvenience."

A number of people posted on the Spotted: Coalville Facebook page with two of them describing hearing a 'massive bang'.

Another said it was a blown transformer on Bardon Close and that Western Power had been informed.
