A two-day weekend of celebration to mark the 125th anniversary of Coalville Park is being planned for this summer.

North West Leicestershire District Council is likely to hold events on June 29 and 30 - although these dates have yet to be confirmed.

The event will be discussed at Tuesday's Coalville Special Expenses meeting.

The weekend is being described as 'community celebration to mark the 125th anniversary of Coalville Park (1899 – 2024)'.

Saturday is aimed to be an evening of song, music, performance and entertainment.

A family fun day in Coalville Park is planned for the Sunday, featuring a main stage, music, performances, entertainment, activities, workshops, stalls, food and drink.

A time capsule and artwork installation for Coalville Park is also scheduled, to include community engagement workshop and an unveiling ceremony, which is subject to a successful external grant.
