North West Leicestershire Police are appealing for information after claims that visiting fans were punched after Coalville Town's FA Cup tie last month.

The Ravens lost to Tamworth in the Third Round Qualifying game at Coalville's ground in Owen Street.

Four Tamworth supporters say they were attacked following the game.

Now police want to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the incident - or filmed it on their phone.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Were you at the match between Coalville Town and Tamworth on Saturday, September 30?

"An appeal is being made for witnesses following a report from visiting fans that they were punched after the game in Owen Street.

"Four men reported being punched in Owen Street shortly before 5pm.

"None of them suffered serious injuries."

PC Russ Leech, the investigating officer, said: "I'd like to speak to anyone who was at the match or was in Owen Street afterwards and saw what happened.

"I'm particularly keen to speak to anyone who might have filmed the incident on a mobile phone.

"Any details or footage you're able to provide could help."
