Thringstone Pub Changes Social Distancing Measures After Police Visit And Council Call

The George and Dragon pub in Thringstone has changed its social distancing rules after being visited by police on Saturday over Covid-19 guidelines.

And the Ashby Road venue also had a phone call from North West Leicestershire District Council on the same subject.

As a result, the pub's management posted a message on their Facebook site on Sunday to explain the changes that are now being made.

The message reads: "After careful consideration following a phone call from the council, and the police visiting - due to customers not following social distancing guidelines - despite our best efforts to enforce these, we have no choice but to make some changes to our regulations to keep our customers and staff safe.

"From today, our inside tables are for diners only.

"This will reduce the amount of people standing around, and queueing inside.

"We will be reducing the number of tables outside to 10, which must be reserved.

"Each reservation will receive two & a half hours at their table to give everybody a chance to revisit the pub after the Cover closures.

"Thank you for your co-operation, and helping to keep the George and Dragon trading safely during these difficult times."
