FCV Grace Dieu has been granted status as a club to participate in the Nottinghamshire Senior League, Division One in the English football pyramid.

The men's senior team is based at the FCV International Football Academy at Thringstone.

Now, the team will be managed by current FCV Grace Dieu Academy coach Shane Clarke, who holds his UEFA A Licence and played both professional and semi-professional football in England.

Shane will be assisted by former Lincoln United and Grantham Town midfielder George Zuerner, with more of the backroom team to be announced in the coming weeks.

Grace Dieu Manor Park will be home to the first team, with players having access to its facilities, which include full-size and small-sided pitches, sports hall, swimming pool and gym equipment.

FCV Grace Dieu Manager, Shane Clarke, said: "This is a great opportunity for FCV to continue developing its football programme and compete at higher levels.

"We know with the quality of players that come through FCV Grace Dieu Academy and some experienced additions at this level, that we will have the perfect combination to be competitive and match our ambitions and short-term targets."

FCV held sessions for any players interested in joining the team earlier this week.
