Three men failed to break into a Coalville property last week after dismantling a lock and front door handle.

Detectives are now investigating the attempted burglary – and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Shortly before 1.30am on Friday (10 February), three men approached an address in Teal Close and removed an outside lock and handle to the front door.

However they were not able to get inside.

They then left the area in a white Ford and travelled towards Bardon Road.

Detective Constable Ryan Barber, from Coalville CID, said: "Although this incident happened in the early hours of the morning, I am keen to speak to anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage who might be able to help.

"Likewise, I would like to speak to anyone who happened to be out at that time and noticed a group of men acting in a manner that drew attention.

"Any details you're able to provide could assist my investigation."
