A pub near Coalville has raised almost £4,000 for LOROS from a fundraising day last weekend

The Donington Arms, at Donington le Heath, staged Blast Fest last Saturday in aid of the local hospice.

It means that the venue has raised over £9,500 for LOROS over the past few years.

The pub has described it as 'unbelievable' and 'overwhelming'.

The day started with a craft fair and coffee morning and group, The Ransacked, performed in the evening.

A post on the Donington Arms' social media page said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped to raise such an incredible amount. We wanted to smash last year's total, and we did it.

"This brings our total over the last three years to an unbelievable £9794.69 for LOROS.

"Thank you to the winner of the TV who asked us to sell it to raise more money. It raised an additional £200.

"Mrs Page, who won the child's quad wanted to donate it to the MacMillan coffee morning raffle which will be held in September.

"This will now raise even more money for another wonderful charity.

"Also a huge thanks to Alexander Black for his contribution by walking 500km throughout the month of March.

"To everyone who has supported us throughout our fundraising event, we would like to say a massive thank you.

"The money will make such a difference to LOROS, a charity that does such an amazing job.

"We have been overwhelmed by your support and generosity."
