Scheme for 15-apartment supported living block on main Coalville Road is given the go-ahead
Plans to build a block of 15 one-bedroom apartments for Supported Living care accommodation in Coalville have been given the go-ahead by North West Leicestershire District Council.
The building would be sited at 34A Ashby Road where the previous structure has already been demolished.
Leamington Spa-based company SSL Co1 LImited first applied for permission to build almost a year ago.
But outline planning permisson and the demolition of the previous building was approved in 2019.
The application is for Class C3b use which covers up to six people living together as a single household and receiving care - such as supported housing schemes such as those for people with learning disabilities or mental health problems.
A council officer's report says that the proposed building would be two-storeys in height and would be positioned so as to be adjacent to Ashby Road.
Manager accommodation and a residents' lounge would also be created internally with a communal garden area provided externally.
Requests for developer contributions include Leicestershire County Council asking for £1,046.00 for improvements to the civic amenity facilities within Coalville which would mitigate the increase in the use of this facility generated by the proposed development.
Planning permission has been granted providing the development begins before the expiration of three years from now.
