Representatives from North West Leicestershire District Council will attend a service of prayer and reflection on the eve of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

At 6pm on Sunday, September 18, they will join Reverend Gill Pinnington at Christ Church, Coalville, as the community continues to mourn the death of the monarch.

The service will include readings, including one by Councillor Nigel Smith, and hymns.

Members of the public of any, or no, faith are welcome to attend, with arrival at 5:45pm for a prompt 6pm start.

The public will also be able to sign the church's book of condolence before or after the service.

Two hundred seats have also been made available on a first come, first-seated basis for a special service for Her Majesty the Queen at St James the Greater Church, Leicester on Sunday.

Doors open from 4.30pm and everyone must be seated by 5pm.

The service will also be livestreamed on the Leicester Cathedral Youtube channel.

Members of the public are also encouraged to check local churches, faith groups or community groups for services and events in their local area.
