Leicestershire Police say a man wanted following a report of a serious sexual assault in Needhams Walk, Coalville, has been arrested and releaed on bail.

The 20-year-old man, of Loughborough, was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

On Monday, police issued a photo of a man they wanted to speak to in connection with the incident.

The following day, a spokesperson for Leiecestershire Police said: "The man pictured has since made contact with police.

"Thank you to everyone who shared the appeal and provided information.

"A 20-year-old man, of Loughborough, has been arrested in connection with the report made.

"Our investigation remains ongoing."

"Police were contacted by a woman who reported she had been sexually assaulted by a man in Needhams Walk at around 1.40am on Saturday morning (November 5).

"A full investigation is ongoing into the report and specialist officers are providing support to the woman.

Detective Sergeant Amanda Boswell said: "We are also appealing to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to get in touch.

"Please think back – were you in the area of Needhams Walk during the early hours of Saturday morning?

"Did you see or hear anything which caused you concern?

"Do you have any dashcam footage or CCTV footage from the area during the early hours of Saturday morning?"
