Police find 18 bags worth of cannabis 'fly-tipped' on Ellistown path

Eighteen bags of cannabis plants were recovered from a bridle path in Ellistown today.

North West Leicestershire Police said that the plants had effectively been fly-tipped in the area.

Officers were called to a report of cannabis plants being found in the area.

But they found a large amount had been dumped - and said it looked a like have a go gardener has decided to get rid of their grow.

A post on the North West Leicestershire Police Facebook page revealed the extent of their find.

The post reads: "Today officers attended an incident of a report of cannabis plants found on a bridle path in Ellistown.

"Upon attendance, officers found a large quantity of cannabis plants that had recently been cut down and dumped at the location.

"Eighteen bags of cannabis crop has been recovered and is now being destroyed."
