A person jumped on the bonnet of a police car in Ibstock - forcing the vehicle to be taken off the road.

Coalville police posted photos online of the damage caused to the car.

And now they want to track down the culprit, who is believed to have committed the crime on Thursday afternoon at around 3pm.

The pictures not only show the dents to the bonnet - but the person responsible also left their footprints behind.

North West Leicestershire Police posted: "The vehicle has been damaged whilst out on patrol yesterday by someone choosing to jump on the bonnet.

"This will be taking a police vehicle off the roads reducing our capabilities of helping people in our community.

"We believe this has happened in Ibstock between 15:00hrs and 15:30hrs Thursday 28th January 2021.

"We are appealing for anyone that has information about who is responsible for this to come forward and call 101 quoting incident number 21000059884."
