Police Called To Reported Assault On Man In Ibstock After Bottle Was Thrown

A man was reported to have been assaulted in Ibstock on Thursday afternoon after a bottle was thrown into a shop.

The bottle caused damage to the store in High Street after reports of two men being outside - with the alleged assault committed by one of those men.

Police were called to the incident and investigations are continuing.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "Officers were called at 2.17pm yesterday (Thursday) to a report of an assault and criminal damage at a premises in High Street, Ibstock.

"From initial enquiries, two men were reported to have been outside the shop when a bottle was thrown into the premises by one of the men causing damage to a shelf.

"A man who was inside the premises then went outside when he was reported to have been assaulted by one of the men.

"The victim did not suffer serious injuries.

"Police attended the scene and enquiries remain ongoing into the incident."
