Motorcyclist is taken to hospital by air ambulance after Hugglescote collision

A motorbike rider had to be airlifted to hospital after colliding with a car in Hugglescote on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened in Station Road close to the junction with The Green.

While the driver of the car was not injured, an air ambulance had to be called to attend to the motorcyclist.

But his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Shortly after 12:50pm yesterday (Monday, February 19), police received a report of a collision involving a car and motorbike in Station Road, close to the junction with The Green, in Hugglescote.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

"His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing. 

"The driver of the car was not injured."

Some residents had said on the Hugglescote and Donington le Heath Facebook page that the blind bend at that point is potentially dangerous.
