Man arrested on violent disorder charge after Coalville double stabbing has been released with no further action

A man arrested on suspicion of violent disorder following an incident in Coalville last month has been released with no further action.

Police were called to Long Lane on Monday, June 13, where it was reported two people had been stabbed.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

A 29-year-old man, from Ashby, was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident and released on police bail.

Following further enquiries, the man has now been released with no further action.

A second man, 21-year-old Liam Carter, of no fixed address, was charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place in connection with the incident.

He will appear at Leicester Crown Court on August 1.
