Armed police arrest man, 50, in Ibstock after 'reports of threats' at town centre address

A 50-year-old man was arrested by armed police in Ibstock yesterday (Thursday) following reports of threats being made at a town property.
Officers were called to an address in Central Avenue at around mid-day.
Armed police were used during the arrest for reasons of 'officer safety', said Leicestershire Police today (Friday).
The force added that that enquiries are continuing into the incident.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police attended an address in Central Avenue in Ibstock on Thursday, December 7.
"The attendance relates to a report of threats made from the address.
"In the interest of officer safety, armed officers were deployed to attend.
"As part of enquiries carried out, a 50-year-old has been arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
"Enquiries are continuing."
