A 29-year-old man was last weekend charged with the murder of David Bettison.

Kyle Morley, of Ashby Road, Coalville, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

A woman in her 20s was also found injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The man, who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of the murder of Mr Bettison, was, on Saturday, further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to the woman.

The scene preservation at the park has been lifted following a thorough examination of the area.
