Coalville's Long Lane Surgery has told patients its boundaries have not changed - and they do not have to find a new doctor.

An error by Primary Care Support England means some Coalville patients have been told they need to move surgeries as they are no longer within the correct boundary.

But Long Lane has been quick to try and put the situation right - and reassured patients that nothing has changed.

A post on the surgery's Facebook page reads: "We have been advised that PCSE have made an error regarding our Long Lane Surgery border, and some patients have been contacted and advised they will need to move surgeries as a result of 'not being within our boundary'.

"This is an error by PCSE.

"We are fully open and welcoming of our patients within the local community, and there is no need to move surgery.

"If you do receive a letter, please contact the surgery if you would like further advice.

"Long Lane Surgery is proud to be providing a local medical service to North West Leicestershire patients.

"More information will follow soon ... but we have a new website planned, and are currently planning the transition of services as Covid restrictions reduce."
