Linda's Coalville Remembrance Trail will 'honour our heroes' in the town next month
A poignant and touching Remembrance Trail will be on display in Coalville from next week.
Linda Farley, a dedicated and passionate community member, has single-handedly created the trail which pays tribute to the brave soldiers, airmen, and sailors who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country since 1914.
All of the graves and memorials are within North West Leicestershire.
From November 1 until after the Remembrance Day on November 12, you can explore this moving trail throughout Coalville, with installations in various public places, including the town's library, Coalville CAN, Marlborough Square, Memorial Square, the Belvoir Shopping Centre, Hotel Street, High Street and Belvoir Road.
The Remembrance Trail features the stories of 100 remarkable individuals including:
• Private Adam Morris from Hugglescote, buried in Donisthorpe, who tragically lost his life in 2006 at the young age of 19 while serving his nation.
• Seaman Farmer, who bravely served and passed away in 1919 at the age of 21, leaving behind a legacy of valour and commitment.
• Airman Cyril Archer, who made the ultimate sacrifice in 1944 at the age of 23, protecting our skies and our freedom.
Linda's dedication and tireless efforts have brought this Remembrance Trail to life, allowing the community to remember and pay their respects to these courageous individuals who gave their all for our nation.
She has urged the Coalville public to come together as a community to remember and honour those who died for our freedom - and to be a part of the journey through the Coalville Remembrance Trail.
