Liberal Democrat councillor Michael Wyatt has today condemned the decision by North West Leicestershire District Council to reduce services in the Coalville special area.

Cllr Wyatt criticised the Conservative-controlled council and said "The cuts in services the council are proposing do not have to happen.

"The Tories are once again showing their utter contempt and spite for Coalville.

"In all the years I have been on the council I have never known such poor leadership and poor management of our council tax."

Cllr Wyatt suggested the forthcoming local council elections this Spring will see a change.

He added: "On May 4, the Tories will, as predicted, lose control after 16 years of delivering nothing but broken promises.

"Coalville residents needs to realise Coalville will never thrive understand the Conservatives."
