Young members of a football club near Coalville have been given a helping hand by a local housebuilder.

Bardon Hill Juniors Football Club has received a donation of 250 from Bellway East Midlands, which is building new homes at Heathlands in nearby Heather.

The money donated has allowed the club to purchase additional equipment, which will help to enhance its training facilities.

Asif Ahmed from Bardon Juniors FC, said: "We are very grateful to have received a funding boost towards new equipment from Bellway.

"It's such a lovely gesture, and we will make sure we put the donation to great use!"

Bellway East Midlands Sales Director, Carolyne Watkinson, said: "Bardon Hill Juniors FC plays a huge part in the community by encouraging children to keep active and socialise, so we are really pleased to be able to support them.

"It is really important to us as a housebuilder to support local community groups within the areas in which we build new homes, and we hope we can continue to work with the club in the future."

Bardon Hill Juniors FC aims to keep children active, with a goal of developing its members into young footballers. The club runs teams from U7s up to U16s, with an additional Mini Kickers team for children over four years.

Three-quarters of the new houses at Heathlands have now been sold, but there's a range of four-bedroom homes currently available to reserve from 275,000. For more information, visit bellway.co.uk.
