House prices in North West Leicestershire have risen by over 80 per cent over the past decade according to a financial website.

They have soared in the UK during that time, but some areas have seen much bigger gains than others - and one has even seen a fall.

Thisismoney.co.uk reports that official figures from the ONS show the average UK house prices rose from £167,716 in January 2013 to £290,000 at the end of January 2023 - a gain of 73 per cent.

But 17 areas have seen prices at least double, with the biggest gain standing at 119 per cent - Waltham Forest.

The average house price in North West Leicestershire - including Coalville and Ashby - 10 years ago was £150,600.

Now it is £278,280, a rise of £127,00, which is 85 per cent.

Prices in Hinckley and Bosworth shot up slightly further - from £155,860 to £290,410, a rise of 86 per cent.

This is Money has produced a table HERE showing how house prices have changed across the UK's local authority areas in the decade to the end of January 2023.

The area where prices have actually fallen is... Aberdeen.
