A fundraiser has been set up for former Coalville Town Ladies Manager, and goalkeeper and soccer school coach, Tony Moore, who passed away last year at the age of just 52.

Those who knew him best have planned a virtual sponsored walk in memory of Tony, with the money raised going towards a sign for him which will be on display at the club, with the rest of the money will going towards the 3G pitch, which he was so passionate about the club having.

Organisers say the 3G pitch is something the club must get now in his honour as Tony never stopped following his dream to enable all children and adults to be able to play all year round.

In his memory the fundraisers will virtually walk this route: Coalville Town to Leuven; Leuven to St Ives; St Ives to Oxford; Oxford back to Coalville Town; Total: 1,155.2 miles.

There is a Just Giving page which explains more about the fundraiser and says: "Tony was and always will be a huge part of Coalville Town Football Club having been a player, goalkeeping coach and manager of teams throughout the youth sides and our very successful ladies team.

"Tony successfully also coached the girls 'Wildcats' in our community, visiting local schools and promoting football for girls.

"Tony set up the Coalville Town soccer school which started indoors at Bagworth Community Centre in 2014 which has brought hundreds of kids to the club, a lot of which are still with us now.

"Apart from the love of his family, he was very passionate about our club.

"Tony would be the first one to suggest raising money for Coalville Town, therefore this fitting tribute to Tony where we can all get involved safely, is to walk virtually to raise money for The Tony Moore Sign which will be situated proudly on the 3G pitch.

"Any funds raised over our target will go towards the 3G pitch. He never gave up on anyone so we are not going to give up on his dream.

"We will be walking over 12,000 miles, adults and children, for this amazing man."
