Friends Of Coalville Park Announce Wildlife Box Trail Details With Council Chairman

The Friends of Coalville Park Wildlife Box Trail was officially announced on Saturday when North West Leicestershire District Council leader Virge Richichi joined committee members.
The event will be taking place on Saturday, October 17.
It was to have taken place at Easter, but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The project was awarded funding at the end of last year and Men & Women in Sheds were commissioned to produce 10 boxes - seven bird, one bat, one bee and one Robin).
In January, 10 local community groups and schools were invited to decorate the boxes for us.

•Christchurch•Choices for Life
•Coalville Children's Centre•1188 Coalville Air Cadets
•3rd Coalville Brownies•Broom Leys Primary School
•Belvoirdale Primary School•Hugglescote Community Primary School
•Friends of Coalville Park The project will be launching on October 17 so the trail can be enjoyed over the local schools half term. The 10 decorated boxes will be installed in trees around the park for children/families to spot. A leaflet and online form is being produced boxes can be spotted and the number written on the form. For the first four weeks there are prizes to be won. One lucky participant will be drawn each week from all completed forms that are submitted. You can find out more about the Trail HERE. Amy Shepherd, of the Friends of Coalville Park, told Coalville Nub News: "The Friends of Coalville Park are delighted to finally be able to launch our Wildlife Box Trail just in time for October half term. "We hope that the trail will bring lots of families into Coalville Park and that it will be enjoyed for many years to come. "Don't forget for the first four weeks we also have a prize giveaway!" The Friends of Coalville Park wanted to gain support from the chairman for both the project and our group and in turn help to raise the profile of the group and project. Councillor Richichi said: "Being a countryman and a deep feeling conservationist, this is a wonderful way of bringing children into the natural world. "It's a wonderful idea and we all appreciate the commitment this group has made to the park."
