Four Coalville off-licences caught selling alcohol to children following weekend police operation

Four Coalville area stores have been caught selling alcohol to children.
An operation was set up by Coalville police on Saturday where off-licences were tested to see if under-age alcohol sales were taking place.
Of the eight stores visited, four failed and will now be dealt with by police.
The operation followed information provided by concerned members of the public who suggested some off-licences were breaking the rules.
A social media post from North West Leicestershire Police did not name the outlets involved.
The post reads: "Officers from Coalville Beat Team have undertaken a test purchasing operation at off-licences.

"This is following reports made to both the Police and Council suggesting that some of the stores were involved in the selling of alcohol to children.
"A total of eight stores were visited today (Saturday) and unfortunately, four of those have failed.
"Those that have breached were spoken to and will be dealt with formally by the police.
"A report of the breaches has also been shared with the licensing team at North West Leicestershire District Council.
"We thank those members of the public who reported this to us and we encourage any concerns around the selling of age-restricted items to be reported."
