Businesses in Coalville can take part in two competitions to help encourage people into the town centre in the run up to the festive period.

North West Leicestershire District Council's (NWLDC) annual Best Dressed Window competition is returning and businesses are encouraged to submit their interest now if they want to take part.

Shops decorating their windows have until Friday, November 18 to sign up and will need to have their festive displays ready by Saturday, November 26.

The Have you seen Santa competition will run in conjunction and businesses can opt in to display a mini-Santa within their shop for customers to find and win prizes.

Both competitions will go live from Saturday 26 November and shoppers will have until Sunday 18 December to take part.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at NWLDC, said: "Each year we look forward to seeing the town centre decorated with festive displays.

"Both competitions really help to create some positive cheer in the run up to Christmas and give businesses a much-needed boost.

"It's all light-hearted fun so let us know if you'll be taking part and get ready to welcome shoppers eyeing up your Christmas windows whilst on the hunt for the mini Santas."
