Hugglescote-based Feed The Need has suspended its Thursday foodbank sessions due to the Coronavirus spread.

It had been providing food for those who need help during difficult times.

But organisers say they will so what they can to help those desperate for food at the moment.

But the current crisis has forced them to temporarily take a break while Coronavirus measures are taken What Coalville Needs To Know

Feed the Need has posted this message on their Facebook page: "We've taken the decision to suspend the Thursday foodbank sessions very reluctantly because of the Coronavirus.

"We hope to stay well and be back to provide food to those in need as soon as possible.

"If you have donations and can store them safely for us thank you.

"If you don't have space we'll try to arrange collection.

If anyone is desperate for food please get in touch and we'll help if we can or put you in touch with any help we know of. We also have toilet rolls, soap and pet food in Hugglescote."
