Leroy Lita has left Coalville Town after just two months with the Ravens.

The ex-Premier League striker has been the subject of an approach from one of Coalville's rivals in the Southern League Central Premier Division.

It means Lita, aged 39, will be playing for the 24th club of his career - but his destination has yet to be revealed.

The Ravens issued a statement on Monday which reads: "We can confirm that following a seven day approach from a league rival, Leroy Lita will be departing the club.

"He leaves with our best wishes and we thank Leroy for his efforts during his short spell after joining from Nuneaton Borough."

Lita joined Coalville in January when Nuneaton Borough entered liquidation.

At the time, the Ravens' website said: "Leroy Lita needs no introduction, being one of the most famous names playing non-league football at the moment.

"After a professional career playing for the likes of Bristol City, Reading, Middlesbrough and Swansea he came into non-league five years ago where we have come up against him playing for Hednesford, Ilkeston and Nuneaton.

"A natural number nine, Leroy is now known for his hold up play and aerial prowess, despite not being the tallest, and has always been a handful whenever playing us, underlined by the fact he scored three goals against the Ravens last year."

The nine-time England under-21 international spent the majority of his time at Bristol City where he began his career before moving on to Reading and then to Middlesbrough.

Birmingham World adds he was at Birmingham City during the 2012/13 season, joining on a three-month emergency loan deal where he scored three goals in 10 games.
