Empty Coalville house hit by anti-social behaviour has been 'transformed' into a family home
A neglected empty property in Coalville - that had been attracting anti-social behaviour - has been transformed into a fresh-faced family home, North West Leicestershire District Council has said.
The house is now back on the market following council intervention.
North West Leicestershire District Council worked with relatives of the previous owner of the long-term empty property for a number of years.
The home was sold, earlier this year, to a local builder who has since ploughed time and money into transforming the semi-detached home ready for the open market.
The three-bedroom home in Scotlands Drive had sat empty since 2018 after the owner's death, attracting anti-social behaviour.
Shepshed-based builder, Jeff Pinchess, has extensively renovated the home and brought it back to life for future generations.
The property now benefits from brand-new flooring, kitchen and bathroom, a newly created downstairs toilet and re-paved drive.
Mr Pinchess said: "I would like to thank all of the contractors who helped with the renovation.
"I purchased the property at the start of 2023 and carried out a full renovation on the property to a high standard.
"I'm very pleased with the way the property looks and hope the new purchaser will be very happy living there.
"The property is now for sale in its new condition through SP Sales and Lettings."
Councillor Michael Wyatt, NWLDC Portfolio Holder for Community Services, said: "It's great to see the transformation of this long-term empty property, which will hopefully soon provide a home for residents or families.
"Our team worked with the family of the former owner for a number of years before securing the sale to Mr Pinchess."
