Passion & The Emporium's joint statement read as follows: "As promised this is an update of the incident at Passions 25th Birthday Party at The Emporium Nightclub in Coalville on 14th March 2020.

"EMPORIUM: Emporium Management and Security were made aware of an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning (15/03/20) involving a collapsed male in the venue.

"The Security Team quickly responded and gave immediate aid together with the Venue's Safety Officer and on site Medic.

"Due to a quick deterioration of the male's condition, resuscitation was immediately started until the arrival of East Midlands Ambulance Service who continued to attempt resuscitation.

"Despite the best efforts of all involved for nearly an hour, it is great sadness that the male did not respond to any treatment and he was pronounced deceased after numerous attempts at recovery.

"The Emporium and other parties are working cooperatively with Leicestershire Constabulary to ensure that the investigation into this incident is dealt with respectfully and effectively.

"At this time, we do not wish to speculate on the cause of death and we will wait for the result of the Coroner's inquest.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to friends and family at this very sad time."

"PASSION:Dear Dedicated Followers of Passion (DFOP's)

"It is with great sadness to hear that one of our followers has sadly passed away at our 25 Birthday Party on Saturday night.

"At 01.20 hrs I was informed of the tragic news, and after speaking with a Policeman at the scene, he told me to switch of the music and ask everyone to leave.

"When I made the announcement I am so proud to say that every person in the club understood the serious nature of the incident and no one complained, and everyone left in an orderly fashion. You really are a credit and I can't thank you enough for all of your help.

"I want to pay tribute to our fantastic ground staff for helping people vacate the building, the door team and our amazing on site medic who did everything possible in an extremely challenging situation.

"Finally, I want to pay tribute to the young man who was a loyal Dedicated Follower of Passion. You will be greatly missed but you will forever be in our hearts.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to family and I hope you can treat this situation with the respect they deserve at what must be an incredibly difficult time.

"Much love and kisses. JFK & The Passion Team."
