Emergency services called as man is trapped in machinery at a Ravenstone farm

A man became trapped in agricultural machinery in Ravenstone this afternoon (Monday) - with four fire crews on the scene.

The incident happened at a farm in Leicester Road where emergency services attempted to free the person.

Leicestershire Police later said the man was freed and suffered 'minor injuries'.

Fire crews were called in to the field at around 2.30pm.

Details were issued by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokesperson said: "Appliances from Coalville, Ashby and Swadlincote along with Technical Rescue Team from Southern Fire Station attended.

"Call received to a person trapped in agricultural machinery in a field.

"Fire Crews were mobilised to incident where with support of Technical Rescue team attempts to release person from Machinery were underway."

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: 'We were called by the fire service just after 2.40pm informing us they were attending a report of a man being trapped in farm machinery at a farm in Leicester Rd, Ravenstone.

"Officers attended and the man was treated at the scene for a minor injury."
