Coalville Park toilets have been targeted by vandals following a £6,000 refurbishment.

North West Leicestershire District Council has issued an appeal for information about the damage caused.

The council says that the money needed to fix the toilets takes away from funds needed for other projects in the district.

A NWLDC spokesperson said: "We're disappointed to see that the toilets at Coalville Park have been vandalised and will remain closed until we're able to fix them.

"Just recently, the toilets were refurbished which cost the council over £6,000 to improve the facilities for visitors.

"Selfish acts like this don't just cost us money to put right, but they also take away the full enjoyment from children and families who come to use the park.

"It also means that we have less funding available for other projects such as providing more play or outdoor gym equipment or making improvements to the skate park.

"We have reported this to the police and ask that if anyone has any information regarding the incident to also make contact with them."
