Coalville Police have been on patrol in the town's supermarkets to make sure shoppers are wearing masks and adhering to Covid-19 lockdown rules.

Officers have told the public they must wear a mask - particularly during what is now England's second national lockdown.

A post on the North West Leicestershire Police site reads: "Today myself and PCSO Rose conducted some foot patrols around local supermarkets in and around Coalville.

"This was to ensure everyone was following the Covid-19 rules and wearing masks while shopping.

"I am so pleased to say that in every supermarket I went in everyone had masks on and if they didn't they had their exemption on clear view.

"PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR MASK WHILE IN PUBLIC Regards PCSO 6646 Lawrence."
