Coronavirus: North West Leicestershire Cases On The Rise Again

North West Leicestershire has had 69 reported new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours.
That means the latest seven day infection rate is 264.5 cases per 100,000 population - with 1,480 cases since the pandemic began.
Leicester has had the most new coronavirus confirmed in a single day since the pandemic began.
There have been 666 new cases confirmed in the city and county council areas in the last 24 hours, with 335 of them in Leicester alone.
The biggest previous daily total was 311 cases, which were confirmed just over a week ago.
Broken down to district and borough level, Charwnood added 151 new infections, while 73 people in Blaby received positive test results.
North West Leicestershire's overall total increased by 69, with 56 new cases confirmed in Hinckley and Bosworth.
There were 42 cases detected in Oadby and Wigston and 41 in Melton. Harborough confirmed 35 cases.
Numbers will need to drastically drop off if the city and county's aims to be placed in tier 1 when the national lockdown measures expire on December 2, are to be achieved.
The new cases, updated today at 4pm, mean that the total number of cases across the city and county since the start of the pandemic area by area are:
