Coleorton Power Supplies Hit By Electrical Fire In Nearby Field

Power supplies in Coleorton were affected today (Wednesday) by an electrical fire caused by burning pole cables.

A crew from Coalville Fire Station were called out at around 11.20am to a field on Lower Moor Road.

But it was almost 2pm before the incident was under control

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service explained what happened on its website

Their update reads: "Initial call received advising of an electrical pole cables have fallen down and set the electrical pole on fire.

"Incident is located on a field opposite Lower Moor Road. One wooden pole and wiring involved in fire.

"Fire Service crews awaiting arrival of Western Power to isolate the Pole.

"Western Power now in attendance. Fire Service crews are liaising with Western Power to formulate a plan of action.

"Power has been isolated, this has affected the power supply to the whole of the village.

"Western Power are working hard to ensure that the power to the village is up and running as soon as possible.

"Fire Crews have put a cordon in place for public safety."
