North West Leicestershire District Council is creating its first outdoor gallery.

Featuring talented amateur artists across the district, the outdoor leaf trail in Coalville is starting to come together.

The council explained: "Works of original art, created on leaf shaped boards, will soon be seen adorning buildings throughout the town.

"These have all been produced by local artists and have the theme of 'Living in the National Forest'.

"We want to share the message that we live right inside the National Forest – an area that is growing every year.

"We are very lucky to have so many areas of woodland to enjoy, both alone and with our families.

"We are all aware of the benefits of walking amongst trees and the role they play in the health of not just ourselves, but our planet too.

"The gallery will form an outdoor leaf trail which will be available to download and follow around the town.

"We are also hosting a Children's Gallery in the window of one of the Belvoir Centre shops.

"Sixty children will have produced a decorated leaf to create a colourful display of foliage. Please visit this too as part of the trail."
