Coalville's Newmarket to host comedy show next month as part of Leicester Festival

By Graham Hill 3rd Jan 2022

Coalville's Newmarket is hosting a comedy night as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival.

The new venue in Marlborough Square was only opened in September - and North West Leicestershire District Council always had plans for it to be used as an entertainment venue as well as a shopping area.

On Saturday, February 5, Newmarket presents An Evening With Rob Gee - comic, poet and psychiatric nurse.

He will be serving up an evening of storytelling, comedy and poetry that will provide a celebration of the chaos and adventure that lurks behind the veneer of everyday life.

It will be held at Newmarket Coalville with a bar and street food available - and is billed as a perfect night out.

Full details are HERE.

Rob has performed over 3,000 shows and regularly appears on BBC Radio.

He has delivered numerous health-based comedy projects in schools and regularly leads creative workshops in mental health settings.

Rob qualified as a psychiatric nurse in 1994, spent many years working at Leicester Partnerships Trust and returned to play his part during COVID-19 pandemic.
