A Coalville woman wants to convert a log cabin in her back garden into a barber's shop.

North West Leicestershire District Council has received a planning application to set up the service in Heron Way.

The application has been made by Lisa Verdiani who says customers will only attend the property by appointment only which will avoid the problem of too many cars parking on the road.

The application says that there is off road parking available for up to two cars.

As well as that, the application also says that, during the current tier three Covid-19 restrictions, all recommended PPE is in use and cleaning is carried out after each customer has left.

The application says that work on the change of use has already started.

Leicestershire County Council's Local Highway Authority has given the venture green light in terms of parking problems and wrote: "It is noted that no additional parking is proposed, however there is limited existing off-road parking available.

"Given the scale of the proposals, the LHA is satisfied that the development proposal would not lead to an unacceptable level of parking within the highway."
