Just Eat customers in Thringstone can now get their groceries delivered from their local Central England Co-op.

The supermarket has extended a partnership with Just Eat with the aim of providing convenient options for its customers and members to receive groceries straight to their door.

The collaboration initially began with 10 of the retailer's food stores across its trading area back in February.

But the decision has been made to extend to more sites following the success of the first phase of the partnership.

Stores in Evington Road, Leicester, Narborough Road in Leicester and Knightthorpe Road in Loughborough were included in February's initial roll-out.

Now Thringstone has been added to that list.

Shoppers choose items using the app - they are then picked and packed at the nearby store by local colleagues before being delivered to them via Just Eat's network of delivery drivers.

Now, shoppers in the Coalville area have the opportunity to top up their weekly shop with forgotten items, get those essentials for their evening meal, order in a cheap takeaway alternative or treat themselves to something special.

Claire Koziol, Head of Stores at Central England Co-op, said: "We're excited to be extending our partnership with Just Eat to give our customers and members in even more locations an easy way to get their groceries delivered to their door in quick time.

"We are committed to making it as easy as possible for our customers to shop with us.

"This partnership gives us the opportunity to not only provide another option for our communities but also work with a recognised and respected brand in home delivery."

Andrew Kenny, Managing Director UK at Just Eat, said: "We're excited to further expand Just Eat's grocery offering. With over 60,000 restaurant and grocery partners on the Just Eat platform and an extensive delivery reach across 97 per cent of all UK postcodes.

"This partnership with Central England Co-op marks the next stage in Just Eat's commitment to delivering the best service and range of options for our customers."

The partnership comes as demand for on-demand grocery deliveries is on the rise in the UK - and follows Just Eat Takeaway.com's global commitment to expanding and building on its extensive existing delivery network, including through convenience grocery operations.
