Coalville Town's youth team are preparing for their biggest-ever game on Wednesday night.

The Ravens' Under-18s travel to Shrewsbury Town for an FA Youth Cup tie.

It is being described as the most important game in 25 years of youth football at the club.

The match will be played at Croud Meadow, the home of Shrewsbury Town, with a capacity of just under 10,000.

Under the guidance of manager Lee Gibson, and coaches Mikey Turner and Jake Ball, the youngsters have already claimed victories against AFC Hinckley, Stamford, Blackstones and Brocton in a cup run which has seen the team produce impressive performances against some strong teams - and twice coming through in penalty shootouts.

The only Leicestershire team left in the competition, Coalville Town are one of 35 non-league teams from across the country to make the first round proper.

If Coalville can come through the tie in Shropshire, they will face an away trip to Chesterfield who wait for the winners in the second round.

Ravens fans are expected to travel in good numbers to see the youngsters, and a larger coach has been sourced after the demand exceeded the original 52-seater bus.

The coach will leave Owen Street at 3:30pm, and a couple of seats remain available.

If you want to come and support the boys, you can book a seat with Wayne McDermott by calling or texting on 07876 140 248.
