Coalville Town's chairman Glyn Rennocks says attendances are up this season compared to last - but confirmed the team will not have another game until next month.

He accepted the Southern League's decision to suspend games while the current pandemic persists,

But he adds that, in the games they have played, the crowds have been bigger.

He spoke to Ravens supporters via the club's website and said: "As you are all probably aware, the Southern League has suspended all football until January 9 at the earliest, meaning our usual festive football fix over Boxing Day and New Year won't be happening this year.

"Whilst disappointing, we understand the league's decision in these unprecedented times and want to wish our fans a safe and merry Christmas.

"Although we have only played 12 games in all competitions so far, it's been good fun on the pitch and even better off it with a significant increase in attendances compared to last season.

"I appreciate it helps when the team is performing so well every week. and some of our locals haven't been able to go and watch Leicester City play, but I want to say a massive thank you to those who have attended a game and made the atmosphere so special.

"Myself and everyone at the club, especially Adam and the players really appreciate it .

"We hope our club is now firmly on the local map and you continue to visit us when safe to do so, this season or next season.

"For now, all I can say is see you in 2021 and please continue to follow our social media pages for updates along the way."
