Coalville shoppers are being given the chance to snap up local shopping vouchers in two festive competitions this month.

You can vote for the town's best dressed window - and find Coalville's hidden Santas to be in with the chance of winning.

North West Leicestershire District Council is offering shoppers two opportunities to win the vouchers, and all people need to do is vote for their favourite window display and go on the hunt for Santa.

Voting for the best dressed window competition is now open.

Businesses across Coalville have been putting their decorating to the test with this year's Christmas display competition.

So, now it is time for shoppers to have their say on which should be crowned winner.

The coveted title of Best Dressed Window will be awarded to the shop with the most votes with nearly 20 businesses pitting it out to be crowned winner in the town centre.

Those admiring the town centre's shop windows should also keep an eye out for Santas in Coalville.

To encourage people to explore the town centre, over 40 mini-Santas have been placed in this year's Have you seen Santa? competition.

Find 10 Father Christmases - and enter online for a chance to win local shopping vouchers.

Vote in this year's Best Dressed Window competition and enter Have You Seen Santa before Sunday 18 December at www.nwleics.gov.uk/santa

Winners will be contacted after 19 December.

Councillor Tony Gillard, Portfolio Holder for Business at NWLDC, said: "It's that time of year again when shops in the town centre wow us with their impressive festive window displays.

"It can be a difficult time for businesses, and we want to support them in encouraging footfall to the local high street.

"If you're out and about in Coalville this festive period, don't forget to vote for your favourite and keep an eye for the Santas spreading some cheer in the town."
