A show of community support North West Leicestershire Rotary clubs raise money to provide over 240 coats for local children.

What has been described as a night of fun, generosity and community spirit saw £2,000 for the Coats4Kids charity.

Coalville Belvoir Rotary Club teamed up with the clubs of Ashby de la Zouch and Ashby de la Zouch Castle to host a sell-out race Night at Lingdale Golf Club last month.

With all 88 tickets gone in record time, guests enjoyed a lively evening of food, drinks, and thrilling entertainment, all in the name of a great cause.

But the aim of the evening was Coats4Kids, a charity that provides new, cosy winter coats for children from families in need, ensuring they arrive at school warm, dry, and ready to learn.

Thanks to the incredible support from attendees and sponsors, the event smashed through its fundraising target.

However, Coats4Kids contributed a generous top-up, funding 243 coats for local children in need.

The night began with virtual horse racing, where guests placed their bets and cheered for their favourite horses.

A raffle featuring prizes from local businesses, including dinner for two at Brownstone Bistro and photography vouchers from Phillip Anthony Photography, added an extra layer to the night.

Local businesses who sponsored the event, included Pall-Ex, Aggregate Industries, Brownstone Bistro, Pastiche, and Hillside K9 Services.

Coalville Belvoir Rotary has also announced its Christmas Santa Sleigh schedule which begins next month (see poster above).
