Coalville Police Nominated For County Award

Coalville Neighbourhood Policing Area has been nominated in the inaugural Safer Community Celebration Awards for Leicestershire Devoted public safety heroes are set to become the toast of the county next week at the new police awards event.

A total of 20 finalists will attend a glittering ceremony hosted by Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner Lord Willy Bach to find out the winners of the inaugural Safer Community Celebration Awards.

The awards have been launched by the PCC to recognise the outstanding contribution of community heroes across Leicestershire and mark the end of his term in office.

Six awards will be presented during the event, which will be hosted at College Court Conference Centre in Leicester on Thursday, January 30.

Finalists for the Viable Partnerships award comprise Coalville Neighbourhood Policing Area and North West Leicestershire District Council; Help the Homeless; Project Polska, and St Philips Centre for the Cops; Communities & Consent project, while Millie Gant from Juniper Lodge, Cas Beckett from First Step and Leicestershire PCSO Rachael Lea have been nominated for the Victim Services Award.

Finalists for the Visible Policing Award comprise Mark Botte, PSCO Karen Rood, and Cyber Protect Officer Sam Hancock while John Roberts (Dear Albert), Turning Point Peer Mentors, E2 and Fosseway Integrated Neighbourhood Team are shortlisted for the Vulnerability Protection

Leicestershire Cares (WIRE Project), the Integrated Offender Management Team and Leicestershire Search & Rescue have been shortlisted for the Value for Money award and Blaby & Hinckley and Charnwood have been nominated for the Community Safety Partnership award.

Nominations have been judged by an independent panel including Willy Bach; Deputy PCC Kirk Master and Chief Constable Simon Cole.
