Coalville Police say they will issue Covid fines to anyone using potentially 'deadly' off-road vehicles at Snibston Park.

More complaints have been received about motorbike and quad bikes being used in the area.

Police say they will seize these vehicles if the riders are caught - especially at a time when lockdown rules apply and because they pose a danger to the public.

A message from North West Leicestershire Police reads: "We are receiving a large amount of complaints in relation to off road motorbikes and quads at Snibston Park and the land adjacent to the area again.

"We would like to take the time to remind off-roaders that it's not appropriate to be riding in this area and could be deadly if you hit someone.

"About six months ago, we put up metal signage warning riders not to use this area.

"These signs also give Police the power to seize bikes without warning using Section 59 (1) of the Police Reform Act 2002.

"Further to this, any persons found doing this will also be issued with fixed penalty notices for breaking COVID19 restrictions.

"As we have said before, we appreciate that this is a skilled hobby however there is a place and a time. Please take notice of this warning before it's too late."
