Coalville Police Appeal After Hit And Run Left Man In 70s Seriously Injured

North West Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run incident in which a man in his 70s was seriously injured after being knocked off his bike.

The collision took place in Broom Leys Road, Coalville, at around 11.15am on Sunday, 21 December.

The incident involved a cyclist and a silver Ford and took place near to the traffic lights at the junction with Stephenson Way.

The cyclist, in his 70s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and left in the direction of Stephenson Way.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision or saw either the cyclist or the silver Ford prior to the incident.
