Coalville: Man in 'unfit' state to drive arrested after van hit parked cars in Whitwick

A van driver has been arrested after colliding with three parked vehicles in the early hours of the morning in Whitwick.

The 31-year-old man is suspected of driving while unfit through drugs and drink at around 2am yesterday (Wednesday).

He caused damage to the vehicles which were parked in Silver Street.

A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said: "Shortly before 2am yesterday (Wednesday, August 25) a report was received that a van had collided with three parked vehicles in Silver Street in Whitwick.

"Officers attended and, following enquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and drinking while unfit through drink.

"He has since been released under investigation and enquiries are continuing."
