Coalville Man Charged With Assault And Drink Driving After Police Responded To Woman's Report

A Coalville man was arrested after officers responded to a report that a woman was assaulted following a collision in Bridgeway, Stratford Upon Avon on Saturday night.

Mark Leonard Aley, 40, of Hough Hill, Swannington, was arrested and later charged with drink driving and assault.

He appeared before Coventry magistrates on Monday to face a number of charges.

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police told Coalville Nub News: "Officers arrested the suspect after he allegedly failed to provide a specimen at the scene of the collision.

"At the scene the victim – a woman in her 20s – reported she had been assaulted earlier in the day at a hotel in Stratford.

"There was also a report she had been assaulted following the collision.

 

"The man was arrested at 23.10 on Saturday.

 

'He appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with two counts of assault by beating, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and drink driving.

"He was bailed with conditions to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on 3 March, 2021."
