Coalville House Fire Was Arson Say North West Leicestershire Police: Appeal Issued For Witnesses

A fire at a house in Coalville last week is being treated as arson by police.

The incident happened on Friday, November 20 at 3.20pm when the rear door of a property on Margaret Street was set alight.

A member of the public called the fire service who were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Extensive smoke damage was caused to the rear porch at the property.

Police appealing for witnesses and DC Natasha Perkins, from Coalville CID, is the investigating officer.

She said: "Thankfully, there was no-one inside when the fire was started and it was extinguished before it caused further damage.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident. Did you see anything suspicious? Do you know who is responsible?

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may help us with our enquiries."
